Information Systems provides a number of services to support our campus community. The following is a comprehensive list of services which you can sort using the categories in the left hand column. We encourage you to utilize this page when exploring our services and to reach out to us with any questions.

  • Account and Password Management
    Information Systems notifies you by email when it is time to change your campus computing password. You will receive email messages 9, 6, and 3 days before your password expires.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
    Adobe Creative Cloud gives users access to a collection of software developed by Adobe for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, and cloud services.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Express
    Easily create social graphics, flyers, logos, and more on web and mobile with Adobe Creative Cloud Express (formerly Adobe Spark). The premium version is available to students, faculty, and staff with their WFU Adobe account.
  • Amazon WorkSpaces
    Amazon WorkSpaces provides a virtual desktop environment that leverages the power of cloud computing and is accessible on nearly any device.
  • AskDeac
    AskDeac is our help portal, providing an easy-to-use, user-friendly platform for faculty, students, and staff to get IT help.
  • Cable TV
    TVs can be connected to WFU Cable TV network. Watch streaming channels with Stream2, available to all WFU faculty, staff, and students.
  • Camtasia
    Faculty, students, and staff have access to Camtasia, a screen recording and video editing tool that allows you to record onscreen activity, audio and webcam video, and narrate existing PowerPoint presentations. Through Camtasia, you can record, edit, produce, and share course content.
  • Canvas
    Canvas is Wake Forest’s Learning Management System (LMS) well known for its usability and mobile app.
  • Class Recording Kit for Reynolda Campus
    The Class Recording Kit provides faculty with self-service, easy-to-use video recording kits designed to record or broadcast (Google Meet, Webex, Zoom) an in-person class event to share with students who are unable to attend.
  • Computing Devices
    Students may purchase with an education discount through WakeWare. Faculty and staff now have the option to choose a Dell, Lenovo, or Apple computer through the distribution process.
  • CrashPlan
    Available to Faculty and Staff – CrashPlan is an automated online backup solution for data stored on your primary WFU-issued computer. Your data is automatically backed up on a periodic basis and can be recovered easily in the event of computer failure.
  • Data Backup and Restore
    Files and data can be lost through viruses, accidental deletion, hardware failure, or theft of the computer. Backups will reduce the impact of such occurrences.
  • DeaconSpace – rooms.wfu.edu
    DeaconSpace (Virtual EMS) is the University’s space request system – simply log in with your WFU credentials to view available rooms, browse events, and request spaces.
  • Dropbox
    Dropbox is an additional platform for file storage and collaboration. Dropbox, like Google Drive, provides security for your intellectual property, internal and external collaboration, and easy access to files while working remotely or traveling.
  • Email (Gmail)
    A free Google Web-based email service available to Wake Forest faculty, staff, and students.
  • External AV & Event Support
    IS recommends hiring out portable AV needs to one of our approved outside vendors. On-campus options are available in certain spaces.
  • File Share
    File shares may be accessed by faculty and staff, using an on-campus internet connection or VPN (if a user is off-campus). File shares cannot be accessed on mobile devices.
  • Gartner
    Gartner is a leading information technology firm that provides research and analysis services to inform and support decision making in higher education and other industry sectors.
  • Google 2-Step Verification
    The use of two-factor authentication to prove one’s identity is based on the premise that an unauthorized actor is unlikely to be able to supply both factors required for access.
  • Google Classroom
    Create a project site using Google Classroom! Here you can create a course outside of Banner registration, a non-credit course, or a course that includes students that don’t have a Wake Forest Gmail account.
  • Google Groups
    A free Google service that provides discussion groups for people sharing common interests.
  • Google Meet
    Easy-to-join video-calls with no downloaded client or plugin required! Chat with your colleagues or fellow students, start or virtual meeting, or live stream.
  • Google Sites
    Utilize the Google suite of productivity tools with this easy-to-use website creator. Accessed using your Wake Forest account, Google Sites provides faculty, students, and staff the ability to create websites featuring drag and drop functionality.
  • Google Workspace
    An integrated suite of secure, cloud-native collaboration and productivity apps powered by Google AI. Includes Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, and more.
  • Grackle
    Grackle is a Google add-on accessibility checker available to campus community members that have a .wfu.edu email address.
  • Guest Accounts
    Guest accounts may be requested by faculty and staff for the purposes of creating an account for a visitor or a new campus organization.
  • High Performance Computing
    The DEAC Cluster is a centralized research computing environment for the entire University.
  • Hypothesis
    Using annotation, Hypothesis enables sentence-level note taking or critique on top of classroom reading, news, blogs, scientific articles, books, terms of service, ballot initiatives, legislation and more.
  • Instructional Technology (ITG)
    The Instructional Technology Group provides academic departments discipline-focused expertise in technology tools, procedures and resources to support the teaching and research.
  • Kaltura
    Kaltura is an all-in-one tool that allows you to record, edit, publish, and share media content through your Canvas course or MediaSpace Portal.
  • KnowBe4
    As the world’s leading Security Awareness Training organization, KnowBe4 features training to establish a collaborative “human firewall” that ultimately protects us from malicious emails and social engineering attacks.
  • Learning Team
    Welcome to the Information Systems Learning page. Check out our classes offered through Workday Learning, or Explore Services to view relevant training materials.
  • LinkedIn Learning
    All faculty, students, and staff have access to LinkedIn Learning, an online learning platform that combines the training opportunities of Lynda.com with all the benefits of LinkedIn, enabling individuals and organizations to achieve their objectives and aspirations.
  • Microsoft OneDrive
    Available to current WFU Faculty, Staff, and Students! Microsoft OneDrive is an additional platform for file storage and collaboration. Like Google Drive and Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive provides security for your intellectual property, internal and external collaboration, and easy access to files while working remotely or traveling.
  • Multimedia Technology
    IS currently maintains over 400 multimedia technology-enabled spaces. Rooms contain various levels of multimedia integration, from simple television monitors, to elaborate high definition projection systems with multiple inputs.
  • Network & Wireless
    Our campus network, WFUwireless, provides unrestricted bandwidth to campus and Intranet services, while our open wireless network, WFUguest, is for campus guests. Use entertainment devices (Smart TVs, gaming consoles, etc) on the wireless network by registering on MyDevices.
  • Office 365
    Available to current WFU Faculty, Staff, and Students! Microsoft OneDrive is an additional platform for file storage and collaboration.   • One Button Studio

  • OneWFU
    OneWFU is your one-stop shop for all the links you need to manage your Wake Forest experience, including academic links, student services links, facilities, events and activities, and more.
  • Power BI
    Power BI is a business analytics service by Microsoft. Through online and mobile reports, dashboards, and apps it provides visualizations and business intelligence capabilities to inform decision-making.
  • Printing
    IS recommends using on-campus printing resources rather than a personal printer. It’s a greener way to go.
  • Qualtrics
    Qualtrics is an easy-to-use, full-featured, web-based tool for creating and conducting online surveys and generating reports without having any previous programming knowledge.
  • Security Essentials
    Essential information for staying secure on the WFU campus. Protect your data, your identity, and institutional integrity.
  • Service Desk
    The Information Systems Service Desk is located in the Z. Smith Reynolds Library on the main floor of the Wilson Wing.
  • Software@WFU – Download Software
    Software @ WFU is our easy to use site for downloading software on WFU or BYOD computers.
  • Statuspage
    Statuspage is the fastest way to get updates on Information System incidents. This service provides IS a way to get in front of incident communication so IS can focus on fixing the problem at hand.
  • Stream2
    Through Stream2, faculty, staff and students can create an account with Apogee to access streaming TV services for their computer and personal mobile devices. The streaming TV service is only available while connected to the campus network.
  • Telecom Basics
    View telephone services for faculty, staff, and students. Learn dialing basics for campus phones.
  • Video Conferencing
    IS offers video conferencing solutions free of charge to faculty, staff, and students. Connect with lecturers, experts, the business community, and more.
  • VoiceThread
    Commonly used for narrated PowerPoint presentations, VoiceThread is a highly flexible, collaborative environment for video, voice, images, and common documents.
  • VPN
    Virtual Private Network software, commonly referred to as VPN, protects users on unsecure networks by encrypting data communicated over the Internet. Faculty, staff, and students can download and install VPN software here.
  • Wake Forest Internal Directory
    Wake Forest University now uses the Google Directory located at contacts.google.com.
  • WakeSites
    WakeSites provides Wake Forest students, faculty, and staff the tools to build dynamic websites using web platforms such as WordPress, Omeka, and Scalar.
  • Webex
    Cisco Webex is a platform for hosting and attending online meetings and presentations, webinars, training, and online presentations. Available to all Faculty, Staff, and Students.
  • WIN
    WIN is the Wake Information Network. Faculty and Staff can find pay stubs, benefits information, and tax documents. Students will find their grades and transcripts, as well as online voting.
  • Workday
    One system. Simplified. Workday unifies Finance, Human Resources, budget and planning into a seamless system that makes it more efficient to complete everyday processes.
  • Workday Learning
    Workday Learning has launched at Wake for Faculty & Staff. The Learning worklet is now available in Workday. Courses previously found on the PDC Online have been transitioned to Workday Learning.
  • Zoom
    Zoom for desktop and mobile is a platform for video conferencing, recording meetings, chatting, screen sharing, and more.
