About WakeWare
Launched in 2016, WakeWare is our official Wake Forest laptop program. Information Systems (IS) selects new models every year, ensuring compatibility and necessary power for undergraduate technology needs.
WakeWare laptops are specially equipped for Wake Forest undergraduate academic programs, and they certainly are excellent devices. Yet what truly makes WakeWare so distinctive is its positive impact on the student experience. WakeWare’s repair coverage protects our students from the disruption and confusion that can occur when a laptop is damaged or breaks. This shifts the effort, time and stress of repairs to our on-campus IS support team, allowing our students to instead focus on the rigorous demands of their studies.

The all-inclusive Wake Forest laptop
Instead of computer labs, Wake Forest drives student computing through personal laptops and robust software licensing. All undergraduate students will need to bring or buy a laptop to support their studies, and there are many options that will meet Wake’s minimum requirements. A key selling point of WakeWare is the additional on-campus support and experience.

Technology Grant
Some students may be eligible for a technology grant, which covers the full cost of a WakeWare standard model. Refer to the Financial Aid portal for more information or contact the Financial Aid office if you have questions around eligibility. If you already have a technology grant, see the how-to guide to redeem.
Bringing Your Own Device – BYOD
All undergraduate students are expected to bring or buy a laptop meeting Wake Forest’s Minimum Configuration Requirements. If you have a new laptop already, you may be able to add damage/repair coverage. Look into bundling this SafeWare coverage by contacting the bookstore: go.wfu.edu/BookstoreHelp.
