Workday
Charter
The Workday Initiative Team (WIT) will be the on-going, cross-functional initiative team that makes recommendations to the IT Partners’ Council (ITPC) and/or the Workday Steering Committee (WSC) for the Workday Program. The WIT will:
- Support the Workday design and configuration to uphold implementation guiding principles.
- Collaboratively discuss and provide guidance on cross-functional issues and processes, either internally to Workday or across the enterprise, and implement supporting initiatives.
- Provide oversight and support of Workday configurations, business processes, upgrades, enhancements, reporting, integrations, security and training.
The WIT will work in consultation with and advise the ITPC and/or WSC to develop annual goals and areas to focus its work. Members of the WIT will meet bi-annually with the ITPC and/or WSC to report the status of major initiatives it has undertaken and make recommendations for required new actions or investments.
Responsibilities
- Work in coordination with the Workday-related Subcommittee to propose initiatives to improve business processes and/or implement new initiatives that are cross-functional or tenant wide in nature.
- Collaborate with the campus community to identify gaps in information availability for faculty, staff and students through reporting or security access. Recommend projects to eliminate gaps and improve communications with and access for Workday system stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Workday Subcommittee and the campus community to identify campus, departmental and individual training needs.
- Collaborate with Information Systems and Workday Subcommittee to plan, test and implement Workday upgrades.
- Analyze the impact and feasibility (interdependencies or conflicts) of changes to Workday or the readiness of related systems and processes to support proposed changes to institutional strategies and policies.
- Recommend to ITPC and/or WSC projects to improve the use of existing financial and human resources support technologies that require significant investment of time or resources.
- Work in coordination with the Data Management Initiative Team to achieve its goals related to development, implementation and enforcement of data standards and support the maintenance of consistent definitions for shared data elements in major systems important to reporting and analytics.
- Work with the Student Services and Engagement Initiative Team to coordinate efforts to plan the future of financial and human resources systems with the implementation of the new student system and to coordinate continued efforts to maintain Banner during the implementation.

- Human Resources
- Financials / Planning Subcommittee chair
- HCM / Planning Subcommittee chair
- Power Users Subcommittee chair(s)
- I/S, including the Engagement / Project Manager and Workday Technical Lead
- Student Services Engagement Initiative Team, Chair, as an ex-officio member
- Data Management Initiative Team, Chair, as an ex-officio member
- Internal Audit
The WIT will be co-chaired by individuals from Financial Services and Human Resources.
The ITPC and/or WSC will review the team’s membership and approve its leadership on an annual basis.
