Academic Technology
We believe technology plays a vital role in Academic Excellence. Whether evaluating the tools and platforms currently in place, staying abreast of new technological tools, re-envisioning classroom software, hardware, and design, or partnering with faculty in the implementation of multi-modal storytelling and storytelling tools, we aim to inform and prepare our students and faculty for a world that is thinking Digitally and Multi-Modally.
Our Mission
Partnering with faculty on course learning goals, we lead with discussion of the desired outcomes, then suggest the appropriate technology. By combining the expertise of pedagogical planning and technological tools, we can inform, enhance, and transform the teaching and learning experience.
Identifying current resources that aid in teaching and learning, meanwhile staying abreast of emerging technology trends. We aim to position ourselves at the fringe of innovation, able to adapt to the changing needs of campus and the increasing demand for educational technology.
Systematically evaluating the centralized tools and platforms currently in place to ensure the highest level of effectiveness, satisfaction and usability, Campus Wide.
Working with partners campus-wide, fostering collaboration and connection in technology planning for University projects and initiatives.
Hannah Inzko
Executive Director of Academic Technology
Hannah Inzko is Wake Forest’s first Executive Director of Academic Technology, a division of Information Systems. As part of the continued mission to bring an academic perspective to the IS Strategic plan, her position aims to enrich teaching, learning and research through innovative uses of new pedagogical practices and emerging technology. In addition to serving on the Information Systems leadership team, Hannah will work across the campus community with the Faculty Commons, ZSR Library staff, and the Instructional Technology Group (ITG) to enrich educational technologies and the support services that enhance teaching, learning and research.
Brianna Healey
Associate Director of Academic Technology
Brianna Healey is the Associate Director of Academic Technology, a division of Information Systems. Her position aims to enhance teaching and learning in the curriculum through the use of digital technologies. Brianna aims to stay at the forefront of teaching, learning, and technology in order to provide transformative learning experiences for students at Wake Forest University.
Paul Whitener
Assistant Director of Digital Fabrication and Maker Education
Paul Whitener is the Assistant Director of Digital Fabrication and Maker Education at Wake Forest University. As an Information Systems staff member assigned to the Wake Forest makerspace, the WakerSpace, Paul is involved in technology and making, which is used to teach students in and out of the classroom. With a bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a Television Production Concentration and an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Paul brings over 30 years of experience, all based in technology, to the program. In his current role, Paul works with students on a daily basis helping them to utilize various “maker” technologies into their classwork. He has also co-facilitated the Computer Science STEM Robotics course as well as led many “pop-up” labs geared towards extracurricular learning for the WFU community. These labs include Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Makey Makey, laser cutting, and 3D printing technologies. In the spirit of Pro Humanitate, Paul is also involved in many technology outreaches to middle and high school students.
Sabrina Mack
Learning Platforms Manager
Sabrina comes to us from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she acted as the Instructional Systems Specialist and was the administrator of their Learning Management System.
In her previous role, she consulted with campus partners to create program assessments, evaluations, and development needs. Sabrina has over a decade in the learning and development division. She has a master’s degree in Adult Education with a concentration in Instructional Design and Human Resources and is currently working towards her PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration in Educational Leadership.
Sabrina is the manager for Canvas, Kaltura, VoiceThread, and PollEverywhere.
Kendyl Neill
Learning Platforms Applications Administrator
Kendyl comes to us from the North Carolina Judicial Branch (NCJB) where she acted as the Learning Management System Administrator and Instructional Designer. In her previous role, she created training and resources for NCJB as needed. She has experience with Canvas LMS and will be the administrator for Canvas at Wake. She received her Undergraduate degree in Education and has a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology.
Kendyl is the administrator for Canvas, Kaltura, VoiceThread, and PollEverywhere.
