Some campus internet services will be unavailable on the evening of May 21
As part of the Information Systems strategy of infrastructure refresh and to ensure optimal network operation and security for the campus community, annual maintenance on the University network will occur on the evening of Tuesday, May 21, starting at 6 p.m. During this window, IS teams will update and refresh portions of the campus firewall and datacenter infrastructure. While there will be some disruption to network service, the work is intentionally scheduled during this period of low utilization, to minimize interruption to campus.
What to expect:
- Between 6 and 8 p.m., access to the internet from the campus network will not be available.
- Between 7 and 9 p.m., access to on-campus resources, including VPN, telephone services, campus-based internet access, and printing, will not be available.
- Additional IS testing will continue throughout the evening and may result in occasional interruptions until the maintenance window closes at midnight.
This outage does not affect off-campus access to email, Canvas, Workday, the University website, and other cloud services.
