Google Groups
Google Groups is a free Google service that provides discussion groups for people sharing common interests in the WFU community.
What are the advantages of Google Groups as compared to listservs?
- No additional administrator/manager password is needed to manage the group
- Post messages to the group through the Google Groups web interface (not only via email)
- Share a calendar, doc, or site directly with a group instead of the individual users
- Integrated with Google’s Shared Drive, allowing your group to share content to a designated place
Can I add non-WFU email addresses to a WFU Google Group?
Yes. This can be configured within the Group by clicking Settings -> Permissions -> Basic permissions -> “Allow members external to this organization”.
