The Class Recording Kit provides faculty with self-service, easy-to-use video recording kits designed to record or broadcast (Google Meet, Zoom) an in-person class event to share with students. These kits are not intended to be a substitute for video conferencing. Kits are limited in number and are available on a first come, first serve basis.

The Class Recording Kits include a camera with built in audio, a tripod, a Lavalier Microphone and receiver, an SD card, and charging cables (a USB to USB-C cable, two UBC-A to USB-C cables, and an SD to USB-C adapter).

If this is your first time using one of the Class Recording Kits, someone from our team will conduct a high-level training with you when you pick it up from the Service Desk.

If you plan to record your classes for review purposes or for students who are unable
to attend, Wake Forest asks that you notify your students by sharing this notice in your syllabus or within the first week of class.

How it Works

  1. Contact your ITG to reserve your Classroom Recording Kit.
  2. Set up your equipment before your class event. You can reference this handout for step-by-step instructions on how to use the camera.
  3. Record or broadcast (Google Meet, Zoom) your class event.
  4. Download the recording to your device and save to your preferred platform (Google Drive, Kaltura).
  5. Return the Class Recording Kit to your ITG when finished.
