About Kevin
Kevin Jung is a Professor of Theological Ethics and Moral Philosophy at the Wake Forest University School of Divinity. He interrogates the boundaries between artificial intelligence and human identity by analyzing the dimensions of time, memory, and language. Jung argues that while AI possesses vast processing capacity, it not only lacks the subjective, private mental content necessary for true consciousness and moral personhood, but also overstates the importance of certain performative capabilities at the expense of other distinctively human features. He cautions against treating machines as sentient entities, emphasizing that technology should serve human flourishing without diminishing the inherent value of the human experience.
