Account & Password Management

Don’t wait! Change your password every 6 months to prevent it from expiring.

Information Systems notifies you by email when it is time to change your campus computing password. You will receive email messages 9, 6, and 3 days before your password expires. The subject line of these messages will include the number of days until your password’s expiration. Change your password before its expiration to avoid losing access to important computing resources!

If you use additional mobile computing device, such as a smartphone or tablet, it is important that you change your email and wireless password on the device. Multiple failed login attempts with incorrect credentials will lock your account.


Your password should not be shared with anyone.

WFU password requirements are as follows:

Your password must:

  • be at least 6 characters
  • be no more than 32 characters
  • contain at least one digit (number)
  • contain at least one letter
Your password may contain:

  • uppercase English letters (A – Z)
  • lowercase English letters (a – z)
  • digits
  • any of these characters ! # $ % & ( ) + , – / ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~
