Mac Lab Refresh Equipped with New iMacs to Foster Creativity and Collaboration

The Mac Lab, located in the ZSR Library, just off the Atrium and next to the IS Service Desk, provides an environment where students, faculty, and staff can explore new digital media and technologies. Visitors to the Mac Lab will benefit from the summer update that included new computers, tables, and chairs.

Sixteen brand new 2021 24″ iMacs (8 blue and 8 orange) replace the prior models and allow for better device placement on the tables, as well as a better saturation of systems in the lab. In addition, the 24″ screen has a vastly improved resolution and nit level providing enhanced screen brightness and clarity. Users will also experience exceptional performance out of applications optimized for the M1 processor in the new 2021 iMacs.

Eight tables and seventeen chairs, recycled from the old BB&T building, provide an improved collaborative environment and allow for a smoother classroom experience.

If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to drop by the lab and check out the new equipment and layout. The lab is a public space available to all library users and may also be reserved for classes, training, meetings, and more through Deaconspace.
