Information Systems is pleased to announce the introduction of a licensed accessibility checker for Google, Grackle, for our campus community, recommended by the Technology Accessibility Program (TAP) and its campus partners.
Our campus community often relies on Google tools such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides for work in teaching, research and service. This intuitive, guided tool will assist in correcting accessibility issues as well as illustrating and modeling accessibility best practices. With Grackle, exported materials (e.g., a Google Doc that is made into a PDF) will also have more built-in accessibility features than what is possible in Google Workspace alone.
Improving accessibility as well as overall knowledge about accessibility makes content more usable for everyone, welcoming a broader audience to engage with the content.
Visit the Grackle service page on the IS website for installation and quickstart guides.
