Cisco AMP

 

The antivirus software on Wake Forest University issued Windows and Apple computers is Cisco’s Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) or Amp for Endpoints Connector.

To run a scan in Windows, go to Start -> Search for Cisco AMP and select Scan Now.

To run a scan in Mac OS, open the Cisco AMP icon in your Menu bar and select Scan.

Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner

If you do not have Cisco AMP installed on your computer.  You may want to try alternative programs, such as Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner.

Malwarebytes offers a free trial which focuses on harmful programs installed on the machine, whereas AdwCleaner focuses on software and settings that display ads.

You can download, install, and run AdwCleaner from the MalwareBytes website.

As shown below, click on the Scan button on the left to begin :

After scan, click on Cleaning to get rid of the adware and malware found:

You can download, install, and run MalwareBytes from the Malwarebytes website.

Click “Scan Now” to begin the malware scan.

After it is done scanning, click “Finish”.

After the scan, restart the computer if you are not prompted.
